Andy and I flew down to join his family in celebrating his father’s 80th birthday. The day we left, rain up and down the Eastern Seaboard meant flights delayed and cancelled. We spent six hours in the Philadelphia airport, which gave us plenty of time to notice how fancy the food has gotten at airport concessions:

The next day was glorious — down South the colors were still turning.
Virginia is serious BBQ country. Also, colonial Williamsburg is a site that must be seen.
Fun hanging out with the family, including Andy’s cool Uncle George and his camera-shy granddaughter Karolina (below), Andy’s beloved niece and nephew Avery and Nathan, who are best of friends, and his sister Becky, brother-in-law Jason, and cousin Erika.
Saturday night was the big birthday dinner at the country club.
