In this week’s New Yorker…

I love Chelsea Handler. The “New Yorker” profile was a bit anemic, not fully capturing her dry, jaundiced wit. She’s got that Kathy Griffin thing going on where she’s always distancing herself from pop culture while immersing herself in it, but without the desperate need to be loved.

I know, David — my friend Tom is also a big Kathy Griffin fan and sees Chelsea Handler as a kindred spirit. OK, sometime I’ll experience her and see for myself. I blow hot and cold on Kathy Griffin, but sometimes she makes me laugh sooooooo hard.
