Make Music New York Festival

we drew a diverse audience

our opening act was the excellent new-music group Ensemble Et Al

Fish are mesmerizing to watch under almost any circumstances. Exotic fish in aquariums even more so. Monterey has a famous aquarium, with an especially dazzling, even psychedelic collection of jellyfish.

Andy’s cousin-who’s-like-a-sister Erika took a mom vacation and came in for a long-awaited reunion with NYC, where she used to live. She stayed at Andy’s place in Astoria, and we ran around town. Checked out the Lynda Barry show at the Adam Baumgold Gallery, had a bite at the mozzarella bar at Madison and 56th, had mezze and wine at Kashkaval on its last day of operation, enjoyed Hedwig and the Angry Inch, dined at Thalia afterwards, attended the Wooster Group’s Early Shaker Spirituals, shopped for tea at Harney & Sons, shared wine and cheese at Cafe Select in Soho’s Kenmare Square…ya know, like ya do.
